Abbots Bromley Horn Dance

Public Domain

This haunting tune, here played on Irish flute & harp, accompanies an ancient dance ritual which represents the competition of stags during their autumn rutting season. The image created by the dancers is reminiscent of prehistoric cave paintings. The antler headpieces used in Abbots Bromley, England, are over 600 years old.
